Deer rescued from IT park in Thane | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Thane: A three-year-old doe (chital) that apparently strayed from the neighbouring forest area and got trapped in an IT park premises along Ghodbunder Road was rescued and later released into the wild, on Monday evening, officials said.
Locals spotted the deer trapped in the enclosure housing a power transformer located near MBC Park at Kasarwadavli and alerted the authorities. A team of forest officials, members of NGO Wildlife Welfare Association, rushed to the spot and rescued the animal. “The deer may have strayed away while grazing in the forest area. We managed to rescue it nearly three hours later and release it into the wild,” Rohit Mohite of WWA said. — Manoj Badgeri
