Deadly Clash in Purnia: One Killed, Ten Injured Amid Neighborhood Dispute | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: A 40-year-old man was killed and 10 people were injured in a fierce fight between two groups in Purnia district on Saturday. The incident took place around 2pm near Hawa Mahal in Satdobh (ward number 44) of the Mufassil police station area when a dispute broke out between two neighbours over the throwing of a corncob.
Purnia SP Kartikey Kumar Sharma said the deceased was identified as Dinesh Sahni, a native of Darbhanga, who lived with his family at Satdobh. “During the dispute, both families attacked each other with sticks and rods. Six people, three from each family, are undergoing treatment at the GMCH. The police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital for a postmortem. Further investigation is on,” the SP added.
The injured include the deceased’s father, Fulchand Sahni (60), mother, Fuliya Devi (52), younger brother, Mithun Sahni (30), and his brother, Kranti Sahni (35). The injured from the other side included Subodh Singh (48), his wife Rekha Devi (42) and four youths – Vijay Kumar (24), Ajay Kumar (22), Sanjay Kumar (17) and Manjay Kumar (16).
Sub-inspector Rishi Yadav of Mufassil police said three people from the other side were taken into police custody and they are being interrogated.
