Deadly Car Crash in Bhubaneswar: Two Killed, Driver Injured |
Bhubaneswar: Two persons were killed when the car they were travelling in rammed into a tree at Gop under Konark police station limits in Puri district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Bisawjit Sahoo (28) from Niali’s Kantapada area and Pradipta Behera (30) from Bhubaneswar. They were on their way to Konark from Bhubaneswar to visit a relative’s house. The driver, Tapas Sahu (31), who sustained minor injuries, lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. According to police, the impact the duo died on the spot.
Sahu was initially admitted at Gop hospital and was later referred to Bhubaneswar. “The victims’ family members have been informed about the incident,” a police officer said.
Police are investigating what led to the sudden collision, if the driver lost control or there was some mechanical problem and road was not properly visible to Tapas.
