Darshan allowed to travel across India | Bengaluru News

Bengaluru: In a big relief for actor Darshan, arraigned as accused no 2 in the Renukaswamy murder case, the high court has relaxed his bail conditions and permitted him to travel across India.
“The petitioner shall seek the permission of the trial court, whenever he is required to travel abroad for any reason and without obtaining the leave of the trial court, he shall not leave the country,” Justice S Vishwajith Shetty observed in his order passed Thursday.
During the hearing, Darshan’s counsel submitted that the petitioner is a permanent resident of Mysuru.
“For professional reasons and also having regard to his health conditions, the petitioner is required to travel every now and then outside Bengaluru. The impugned condition imposed by the high court has been causing unnecessary hardship to the petitioner and on every such event, it is difficult for him to seek permission of the trial court,” the court was told.
Special public prosecutor P Prasanna Kumar, who opposed the application, however, said the condition directing the petitioner to seek permission from the trial court to leave its jurisdiction may be modified subject to the requirement that the actor should seek its permission to travel abroad.
Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan and resident of Chitradurga, was allegedly kidnapped and murdered at a shed at Pattanagere in Bengaluru on June 8. The case of the prosecution is that Darshan and other accused had allegedly tortured him and murdered him before disposing of his body in a stormwater drain.
