Patna: One Rohit Raj (24), accused in a fatal shooting and murder in Dhanaut near Danapur, surrendered to the police on Saturday. Raj surrendered at Rupaspur police station just as authorities were about to begin attaching his house under the supervision of Danapur SDPO Bhanu Pratap Singh.
Singh confirmed that Rohit was arrested and sent to jail. “The accused surrendered when the police were attaching properties of four absconding suspects in the murder and arms case from November 2023. Three others remain at large and their properties have been attached,” he said.
Following court orders, the police attached properties belonging to Vinita Verma, wife of Sanjeev Kumar Verma, their son Adarsh Kumar and Pratima Kumari alias Annu Kumari, wife of Praveen Kumar. Praveen was arrested earlier and Sanjeev surrendered last year,” Kumar said.
On Saturday, Sanjeev’s driver Rohit also surrendered. “When the police arrived to attach his property, he turned himself in. Three other accused remain absconding, and the police have completed attaching their properties,” the SHO added.
