Cyclone Expected to Miss Odisha: IMD Forecast | Bhubaneswar News
Bhubaneswar: IMD on Tuesday predicted that a cyclonic storm is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday, developing from a low-pressure system that emerged on Nov 23.
The deep depression currently hovering over the southwest Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm, moving north-northwestwards at 12 kmph. The system will track towards the Tamil Nadu coast, skirting Sri Lanka over the next two days, officials said.
While the storm poses no direct threat to the state, several districts may experience light rainfall and overcast conditions from Thursday (Nov 28) for three days. Both coastal and interior regions could see rainfall, the IMD said.
The IMD bulletin also noted that current minimum temperatures will remain stable for the next two days before rising by two to three degrees Celsius.TNN
