CUSB Secures Rs 20 Lakh Grant for Pioneering Tribal Studies Project | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) has been awarded a research grant of Rs 20 lakh from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) for its project titled “Gendering tribal household food security in aspirational districts of empowered action group (EAG) states of India”. This prestigious award has been sanctioned under the special category for Vision Viksit Bharat@2047, said CUSB‘s public relations officer Md Mudassir Alam.
Rikil Chyrmang of CUSB’s department of economic studies and policy is the principal investigator of the project. Other members of the research team are Visakha Kutumbale of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Swati Jain of Allahabad University, Garima Mishra of Centre for Women’s Studies, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, and Suneela Sahasrabuddhe of Biocon Limited, Bengaluru.
CUSB’s economics department head Krishnan Chalil pointed out that this is the first collaborative research project of its kind undertaken by the CUSB’s school of social sciences. The project aims at exploring gender dynamics in tribal households and evaluating food security in the aspirational districts of tribal regions. It will also address the issues of gender equity and women’s empowerment in the tribal communities, he added.
