Patna: Central govt’s Institute of Hotel Management (IHM)-Hajipur held a pre-Christmas celebration with culinary delight and cultural flair, bringing together students, faculty members and guests on its campus on Friday.
The day commenced with the ceremonial lighting of Christmas tree, symbolising unity and goodwill, in the presence of Gaurav Shandilya, general manager of a prominent hotel in Patna and Ajitab Kumar, director of BD Public School in Hajipur among others. A cultural programme followed, featuring a medley of performances, including carol singing, skits and dance by the students of IHM-Hajipur.
One of the event’s highlights was the gala lunch of traditional Christmas dishes, prepared by the students under the guidance of their faculty mentors.
The whole preparation was undertaken by the students of IHM Hajipur. Decoration and cultural events were prepared by first-year students, food and beverage service by second year, and the kitchen part was managed by the third-year students.
Pulak Mandal, principal of IHM-Hajipur, said this celebration is a testament to the spirit of togetherness and joy that defines Christmas. “It reflects the commitment of our students to excellence in hospitality and cultural expression. Events like these enrich their learning experience and prepare them for the dynamic world of hospitality.”
Sumit Chatterjee, a teacher, said Christmas events inspire all to carry forward the values of giving, sharing and spreading love.
