Bhubaneswar: Two persons sustained injuries in a cracker explosion that took place at Hiradeipur under Sadar police limits in Nayagarh district Monday. The injured persons were identified as Amiya Nahak (38) of Srirampur and Subha Nayak (20) of Hiradeipur. The two were shifted to Nayagarh district headquarters hospital. As the health condition of Amiya deteriorated, he was shifted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, in the evening. Police said Amiya brought crackers from Srirampur, which were supposed to be used in his brother-in-law’s marriage. However, the cracker caught fire suddenly, resulting in the tragic incident.
