CPI plans protests in Bihar to address public issues and strengthen base | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: The state council of the Communist Party of India (CPI) on Tuesday decided to launch a series of protests across Bihar in the coming months to address pressing issues affecting the public. These initiatives are part of efforts to bolster the party’s base ahead of the 2025 state assembly elections.
In September, the CPI plans a large-scale agitation with workers and leaders staging demonstrations at all district collectorates.These protests will highlight longstanding local issues, as outlined in the party’s press release.
The protests intend to draw attention to public concerns and prompt action from local administrations. “The decisions were formulated during a two-day state council meeting held to analyse the recent Lok Sabha election results,” CPI state secretary Ram Naresh Pandey said. The party also intends to conduct a two-month membership drive to strengthen its organizational structure statewide.
During the meeting, the state council passed 11 proposals addressing rising crime rates, crimes against women, paper leaks, govt actions affecting dalit and BPL families’ electricity access, facilitating Sahara India investors, and increasing MGNREGA workdays to 200 annually with a daily wage of Rs 600.
