Bhubaneswar: Common PG Entrance Test (CPET)-2024 began at 21 centres across the state on Wednesday for admission into state public universities and autonomous colleges. More than 62,000 candidates had applied to appear for CPET, which will continue till July 13. After obtaining a rank in the exam, students can get admission into PG courses in the state.
On the first day, candidates appeared for anthropology (humanities and science), statistics, geography, Hindi and MBA papers in three sittings. The first session was conducted between 10 am and 11 am, while the second started at 12.30 pm and continued till 1.30 pm. The last session was held between 3 pm and 4 pm.
Candidates answered objective-type questions on an OMR sheet. The test was conducted by the State Selection Board (SSB) of higher education department. SSB has chosen large degree and autonomous colleges as examination centres.
On Thursday, candidates will appear for commerce, population studies, law, physics and microbiology papers. On Friday, they will appear for subjects like English, geology, psychology and zoology.
SSB will hand over the marks obtained by candidates to Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) here on July 20. Applicants can upload graduation/equivalent marks between July 12 and 20. The department will notify the dates for publication of subject-wise and state-wide merit lists, official sources said.
