Court orders community service for minors involved in sexual crimes in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: As per the directive, the four persons have been sentenced to perform community service for a duration of one year. Their assigned service will take place on the second and third Sunday of each month, requiring them to dedicate their time from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
This decision was confirmed by assistant public prosecutor Anitha Deshmukh, who provided details regarding the court’s ruling.
In the first case of Tukaramgate, the boy raped a minor girl on multiple occasions under the promise of marriage in December 2021. He was 17, and the girl was 16 at the time of the crime. The magistrate also awarded Rs 50,000 compensation to the survivor in this case.
In the second case at Habeeb Nagar, the boy misbehaved with his cousin and sexually harassed her, and a case was registered in May 2023. He was then 17, and the girl was 15.
In another case of Tukaramgate reported in November 2023, the magistrate announced Rs 50,000 compensation to the girl while awarding punishment to two boys, including the girl’s cousin, who raped her on multiple occasions by putting her under threat.
