Couple killed, 3 hurt as tractor overturns in Rayagada | Bhubaneswar News

Koraput: A couple were killed and three others were grievously injured after a brick-laden tractor overturned near Gulamunda Paka in Rayagada district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Chaitanya Sabar (45) and his wife, Mamita Sabar (35).
The accident occurred around 11:30 am, about 10 km from Gunupur town, when the tractor driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.
Police sources said the injured were immediately rushed to Gunupur hospital for treatment. A critically injured victim was later referred to the district headquarters hospital in Paralakhemundi after his condition worsened.
“There were six people on the tractor, including the driver. After the vehicle overturned, some were trapped under the debris, while three others were thrown out. Initially, three injured persons were taken to Gunupur hospital by ambulance,” said Uttam Kumar Sahu, IIC of Gunupur police station.
All the victims are daily labourers from Ompera village. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
