Corruption Case: Legal Assistant at RDA Sacked After Graft Conviction | Bhubaneswar News
Rourkela: A legal assistant posted with Rourkela Development Authority (RDA) was sacked on Wednesday after his conviction in a corruption case on June 26. According to a release by the vigilance directorate, Manoj Kumar Dash was charged in a corruption case. Following his conviction, he was dismissed from service, the release added. Rajalaxmi Patnaik, special judge, vigilance, Sundargarh, sentenced Dash to two years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him.Along with Dash, two other former RDA officials — ex-secretary Medisetti Seshadri and ex-executive engineer and PHD-cum-engineering member Siva Charan Mohanty — were convicted. Both were convicted for using their positions to show favour to Dash and illegally appointing him as legal assistant in RDA for monetary gains. Seshadri was absent during sentencing.tnn
