Cops solve temple theft case within 12 hours, 2 held | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Two persons were arrested by the Jeedimetla police on Tuesday in connection with the theft at a temple at Quthbullapur. Police recovered stolen idols, jewellery, and temple articles, all worth 95,000, from the accused.
Police traced the accused, both in their 30s, using clues from CCTVs, said DCP Balanagar Suresh Kumar. Footage from over 70 cameras, starting from the crime scene and covering the escape route to the residences of the accused at Tolichowli, were verified. These were corroborated with other leads, and the suspects were caught in less than 12 hours, the DCP added.
Police said the theft occurred in the early hours of Monday and was reported at 10.40 am on the same day. A case was registered, and special teams from Central Crime Station, Special Operation Team, along with Jeedimetla police, were deputed to nab the suspects.
The two accused belong to a different communities and have previous criminal records, police said. The duo were sent to judicial remand on Tuesday.
