Cops search for ‘missing’ woman, 2 children | Bhubaneswar News
Rourkela: Police have launched a search for a 35-year-old woman and her two children, aged 14 and 11, who allegedly went missing from their home in Ataghat village in Sundargarh district on Sunday night.
The incident came to light after Dinunath Bhumij (48), a machine operator at Nalco, Angul, filed a missing person complaint at Lathikata police station on Tuesday evening, alleging his wife, Sahachari Bhumij, took Rs 2 lakh from the house before disappearing with their children.
“My mother found they were not in the house the next morning and immediately informed me,” said Dinunath, who lives in Angul due to his job. He said attempts to contact his wife have been unsuccessful as her mobile phone is switched off.
Baidyanath Sahoo, inspector in-charge of Lathikata police station, said they have launched an investigation based on the complaint. Initial inquiries with the woman’s relatives have yielded no leads about their whereabouts, police sources said.
