Prayagraj: With top state police authorities promoting tech-driven, proactive policing and developing prompt grievance redressal mechanisms, officials of the Prayagraj Police Commissionerate, ranking from inspector to additional commissioner (Additional CP) and commissioner of police, are virtually connecting daily from 10am to 2pm under the ‘JanSunwai’ module to coordinate and take prompt actions on the grievances of complainants.Under the module, all cops, including station house officers of 42 police stations, ACPs of all 11 circles, and three DCPs of the district, connect with senior police officials, including the Additional CP (law and order) and police commissioner, to discuss the issues and complaints of victims to get them solved promptly.Additional CP (law and order) Dr Ajay Pal told TOI, “When a complainant or victim approaches a senior police official to get his or her problem sorted out, the senior cop, after going through the application or complaint, connects with the concerned ACP or SHO online, briefs or asks about the problem (in case he or she visited the police station concerned) and directs them to take actions accordingly.”He added, “This online JanSunwai helps police authorities to find out the current status of investigations, whether statements are being recorded during the probe or not, case progress, submission of charge sheet or final report, and also helps cops determine whether the plaintiff was telling the truth or lying.”Additional CP further claimed, “It’s like a teamwork connecting all rank police officials of the district online through a portal and taking each and every complaint seriously with an objective for prompt disposal.” Suppose when a complaint comes for the second or third time in case of non-redressal, senior cops then ask the concerned SHO about the reason or progress (if not solved or if the victim is not aware of the progress of the report) and take action accordingly. This also helps senior cops to determine the laxity on the part of the police station as all complaints are maintained both digitally and manually at police record rooms.”
