‘Congress is an endangered species’: Union minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar hits back at Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s remarks at AICC meet | Hyderabad News

NEW DELHI: Union minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar responded sharply to Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy‘s assertion about preventing BJP’s presence in the state. Kumar questioned the Chief Minister’s capability, highlighting his inability to secure Congress victory in his home district of Mahabubnagar.
“Telangana CM couldn’t make Congress win in his native Mahabubnagar–lost to a BJP MP. He couldn’t hold his sitting seat in Malkajgiri–again lost to the BJP. He came third in Kamareddy, defeated directly by a BJP MLA. Even in the MLC polls, Congress lost to the BJP,” Kumar stated on X.
“In Hyderabad, Congress doesn’t even have candidates–they’re backing MIM. Yet today in Ahmedabad, he claims Congress will stop the BJP? If you can’t win on your home turf, how will you take on the BJP across the country?” he continued.
Kumar described the BJP as increasingly robust whilst referring to Congress as an “endangered species.”
“While you accuse us of spreading communal hatred, Hyderabad knows who’s really playing that game–you and your MIM allies. Congress is an endangered species. The CM should ask Rahul Gandhi to protect the few left instead of turning them into rubber stamps. BJP is here to stay. And we’re only getting stronger. We are here to lead,” Kumar declared.
Previously, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had declared that Congress would prevent BJP from establishing itself in the state.
“From the land of Vallabhbhai Patel, I am saying only one thing. Under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, we will not let the BJP enter Telangana. We will stop them,” Revanth Reddy announced at the AICC meeting in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister urged Congress supporters and Gandhi followers to ensure BJP’s defeat nationwide.
“With a strong resolve from here, we are going to defeat the BJP in Telangana. I am appealing to every Congress worker and Gandhi follower to take the responsibility of defeating the BJP in the coming days from here. All of us should defeat Godse’s descendants and Modi,” he stated.
“Standing in the land of Gujarat, I resolved to stop the BJP from entering Telangana. The Telangana region was liberated from Nizam’s rule under the leadership of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and former Union Home Minister Vallabhbhai Patel. It is the reason Telangana people maintain a relationship with the Gujrat people and the descendants of Vallabhbhai Patel,” he concluded.
