Congress Accuses Nitish Kumar Government of Bureaucratic Rule in Bihar | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: State Congress president Akhilesh Prasad Singh on Saturday criticised the CM Nitish Kumar-led govt, alleging that the cabinet ministers were being ignored and the state was being run by a select few bureaucrats.
Singh, who was addressing mediapersons at Sadaquat Ashram, specifically mentioned about social welfare minister Madan Sahani, who recently said that he left Patna and was sitting in Darbhanga because no file was sent to him by the additional chief secretary of his department.
“This is enough to tell that if the ministers are not heard in the state, who will listen to the public? The constitutional dignity is being torn to shreds and the files are not reaching the ministers. When CM Nitish Kumar does not have time, then to whom is the file going? This is a matter worth noting,” Singh said.
He also criticised PM Narendra Modi, alleging that the latter was intentionally making announcements for Jharkhand while the elections were underway there.
Hitting back at Singh, JD(U) state spokesperson Anjum Ara said the former was making “baseless allegations”. “Nitish is an able administrator and knows what to do and what not to. In fact, when RJD and Congress were going the wrong ways, Nitish showed them the door. It is clearly defined in the Constitution what a legislative and an executive body has to do. Let me make it very clear that every week a cabinet meeting is held and decisions are taken, which are then executed by the officers. This is the process being followed in Bihar,” she said.
