Cong villain no. 1 for Telangana, deceiving people: KCR | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Former CM K Chandrasekar Rao Sunday tore into Congress calling it the “villain number one” of Telangana and the ruling party had mastered the art of deceiving people for votes.
Addressing a public meeting in Elkathurthy in Hanumakonda to celebrate the silver jubilee of BRS, KCR came down heavily on the Congress govt, stating, “No one can match the Congress in ‘golmaal’ and peddling lies. They promised a one-time loan waiver, increase in Rythu Bharosa amount to Rs 15,000, and a rise in pension amounts. They also promised additional gold for Kalyana Lakshmi. Are they delivering on any of these promises? Nothing.”
The BRS chief said the “duplicate Gandhis from New Delhi gave false assurances to the public that they would provide more to people than what KCR had. Congress has a track record of such gimmicks.” He vowed BRS would continue to target Congress because Telangana is suffering under its rule.
“When Congress leaders campaigned for votes, they vowed on every god. Now, when we ask for implementation of those promises, they blame BRS and KCR. Is that not a form of cheating? Even women are dissatisfied with the free bus travel,” he added.
KCR alleged contractors in the state were complaining about “high commissions being collected by the ruling party leaders.” He sought to know why a minister made an issue of this in the assembly when BRS tried to bring it up if he was not involved in corruption.
Speaking on the decline in land rates and transactions, and HYDRAA, he said, “In the past, during my trips to various districts, I would constantly hear about land rates rising. But now, the situation has reversed. HYDRAA is only scaring the common people; we never made such decisions.”
On the Kancha Gachibowli land issue, the former CM said, “There is no sense in selling such valuable land. Where will all this lead to?” KCR said Congress will face the public’s wrath for its wrongdoings. “One of our MLAs mentioned how some real estate firms’ owners were frustrated with the Congress govt, but the ruling party made it a big issue alleging that we were planning to topple the govt. We have no such plans; the people will teach you a lesson for cheating them,” he said.
Recalling BRS’s journey from 2001, KCR stated it was Congress that created the United Andhra Pradesh despite opposition from the Telangana people in 1969, and they suppressed the Telangana agitation. After BRS (formerly TRS) was formed, Congress tied up with BRS and secured supporting letters from 36 parties. Despite these efforts, Congress still denied Telangana. KCR pointed out that after a prolonged struggle and sacrifices, Congress announced support for Telangana, only to backtrack immediately. “This was also deceit,” he remarked.
The BRS chief highlighted that during the TDP tenure, former CM N Chandrababu Naidu secured a ruling from the Speaker to prohibit the use of the word Telangana in the assembly. Rao also detailed how Telangana has made progress during the BRS regime from 2014 to 2023.
He recalled that the state had received multiple awards and achieved significant advancements across various sectors, including per capita income and GSDP. “These are not my stories; they are backed by statistics from the RBI and CAG,” he stated.

Hyderabad: Former CM KCR told police officers to note in their diaries that BRS would form the next govt in the state. He expressed concern that dedicated social media supporters of BRS were facing numerous cases from police. “No one can stop BRS from coming to power. What is the problem with police? Our social media warriors are only doing their duty by voicing the concerns of the people about the failures of the govt.” He assured them the full support of the party and legal team in fighting the cases booked against them. “We will not remain silent but will continue to hold the Congress govt to account,” he said.
