CNLU provides top-quality education, says VC | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: As many as 138 newly admitted students of Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) got insights into the various elements of their curriculum, teaching pedagogy, examination system, mentorship and campus discipline at an orientation programme organized here on Sunday.
All these students who joined the institution from different parts of the country were accompanied by their parents.Addressing the students, CNLU vice-chancellor Faizan Mustafa said very few institutions in the country could compete with the CNLU in terms of quality of education. This university has the most impressive record in sending its pass-outs to the judicial services, he said.
Disagreeing with William Shakespeare’s quote: “the first thing we would like to do would be to kill all lawyers”, the VC said there is no substitute to lawyers in the modern era. More often than not, lawyers take up people’s causes and fight for their rights, he said.
Introducing all the faculty members to the newcomers, the VC said that law is useful in every sphere of life and it is the only profession mentioned by the Indian Constitution.
Addressing the parents of students, Mustafa said, “I am adopting your children today. But, I cannot give them the blind love of a mother. I would provide them with the care and affection of a father,” he added.
CNLU registrar S P Singh, in his welcome address, emphasized the important role played by judiciary in strengthening the roots of democracy in the country. He called upon the budding lawyers to fight for justice for the marginalized sections of the society who are voiceless.
CNLU officials and senior faculty members, including Ajay Kumar, Manoranjan Kumar, Samidha Pandey and Anamika also addressed the newly admitted students of BA, LLB (Hons) and BBA, LLB (Hons) courses. Pratyush Kaushik proposed a vote of thanks.
