CM Revanth extends greetings on beginning of Ramzan, emphasises secularism & minority upliftment | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday extended greetings to the Muslim community on the commencement of Ramzan. While Taraveeh prayers started on Saturday evening, the first day of fasting (roza) was observed on Sunday.
The crescent was sighted on Saturday, marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramzan. Ramzan is the ninth month of the Hijri calendar, also known as the lunar calendar.
“The fasting month of Ramzan gives the message of serving humanity. The strict fasting and prayers observed by Muslims during the month of Ramzan enhance spirituality and discipline,” he said.
Telangana is a model for the country in preserving secularism and religious harmony. The Congress govt will work sincerely for the upliftment of Muslims and other minorities and assured that programmes that will help in the upliftment of Muslims will be implemented.
