Puri: On the eve of Odia New Year, a calendar on Jagannath Temple’s festivals and rituals was released by chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Puri on Sunday. For the first time, an information booklet featuring stunning photos of the temple was also released on the occasion.
“The calendar provides detailed information about all the festivals, rituals and ceremonial processions to be observed in Jagannath Temple throughout the year, starting from Maha Vishuba Sankranti till Ram abhishek niti. After extensive discussions with sevayats, Mukti Mandap priest and leading astrologers of the state, the final festival dates were officially confirmed and printed,” said Arabinda Padhee, chief administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
Law minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, revenue minister Suresh Pujari and chief secretary Manoj Ahuja, among others, attended the event.
