CM: Release 54,354 cr for land for 11 infra projects

Mumbai: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday directed the finance dept to release Rs 54,354 crore required for land acquisition for 11 infrastructure projects in the state. At a review meeting at his official residence Varsha, Fadnavis said a timeline has been given to all agencies for the land acquisition process and a delay in project execution leads to a huge increase in its cost.He held a detailed review of land acquisition for road projects including the Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Highway, Virar-Alibaug multimodal corridor, Jalna-Nanded Expressway, Pune Ring Road East, West and Extension, among others.Fadnavis said the Shaktipeeth Highway plan should be prepared such that minimum forest land will be affected. He directed the finance dept to release Rs 12,000 crore for land acquisition for this road. Since there is forest land and mangrove forest in the Morbe to Karanja section of the Virar-Alibaug corridor, the process of obtaining necessary permissions should be started immediately, he said. Fadnavis called for a proposal to be submitted to include Vadhan-Igatpuri Expressway in the Sagarmala scheme. The land acquisition process of Jalna-Nanded Expressway at Selu in Parbhani district should be completed within 15 days, instructed Fadnavis. Fadnavis directed that all plans of all expressways in Vidarbha such as Bhandara-Gadchiroli, Nagpur-Chandrapur and Nagpur-Gondiya should be finalised at the earliest.tnn
