CM Mohan Majhi: Government plans to expand CM grievance cell to revenue divisions in Odisha | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Given the overwhelming public presence to the CM grievance cell, the govt is now planning to expand it beyond the confines of the state capital so that people do not have to travel far and wide to resolve their problems. The decision was announced by chief minister Mohan Majhi on Monday while listening to the grievances of people who had come to meet him.
As per plan, the grievance cell could be set up at three revenue divisions in the state — the central division headquartered in Cuttack, the northern division in Sambalpur and the southern division in Berhampur.
“We are thinking about hearing the grievances of people at the revenue division level so that people will not have to travel so far to Bhubaneswar and can get their grievances resolved close to their areas,” Majhi said. He said it is the responsibility of a CM to meet his people and resolve their issues. “We will also take steps to resolve small issues at the district level so that people will not have to travel far to air their grievances. Important cases should be brought to the CM grievance cell. Government servants should send their complaints to their own departments,” he added.
The chief minister asked his officials to keep the grievance portal updated and give daily reports.
More than 5,000 people visited the grievance cell, similar to the first day of hearing on July 1. More than 1,000 grievances were resolved in the presence of the CM.
Apart from Majhi, deputy chief minister KV Singh Deo, ministers Suresh Pujari, Rabi Narayan Naik, Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Sampad Chandra Swain, Gokulananda Mallik and Nityananda Gond, along with secretaries of five different departments, heard the grievances of the people.
