Bhubaneswar: Social media giant X, formerly called Twitter, has suspended an account of Odisha chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi, which has been tagged as fake by the state’s information and public relation department.
Confusion started after multiple X accounts of the new chief minister started making rounds on the social media network ever since he was sworn in and assumed office on Wednesday.
Though both the accounts disseminate similar information, one was tagged fake by the govt.
The account with the handle @mohanmajhi_BJP, which was tagged fake by the I&PR department has been suspended by X. With this the account with the handle, @MohanMOdisha is declared the official X account of the new CM.
The new CM has mentioned, @mohanmajhi_BJP as his official X handle on his candidate affidavit but later it was changed to @MohanMOdisha after him assuming the charge of the new chief minister of Odisha, official said.
