CM: Integrated transport body formation only after feedback | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Mumbai: The law to set up an Integrated Metropolitan Transport Authority (IMTA) will be enacted only after obtaining suggestions/objections from the people, said CM Devendra Fadnavis recently.
At a meeting to enhance transport network and resolve issues of traffic congestion in metropolitan cities, Fadnavis said various transport services are provided by local urban bodies, state transport corporation, railways and metros, and there is a need for coordination for passenger-oriented transport services. “It is necessary to establish an IMTA for the development and expansion of transport services in metropolitan cities,” said Fadnavis, adding that the post of CEO of IMTA would be an independent one.
