CM inaugurates police bldg at Korkunda

Koraput: In an attempt to strengthen law enforcement in Maoist-affected areas, chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi virtually inaugurated a new police building at Korkunda on Friday. The inauguration was part of a larger initiative that saw the launch of 14 newly constructed police stations across the state.
The establishment of Korkunda police building holds significance as the area was previously under the jurisdiction of Malkangiri Sadar police station, located 18 km away in Malkangiri town. With the new police building now operational, authorities concerned anticipate improved law and order in the region.
Korkunda, which falls on a known ganja smuggling corridor, has been a critical area for law enforcement. Officers believe the presence of a dedicated police station will enhance policing efforts and bolster public safety.
“With the establishment of the police building at Korkunda, our response time during untoward incidents will decrease, improving the overall effectiveness of policing in the area,” said Malkangiri SP Vinod Patil.
