CM gives out appt letters to 376 new recruits | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Majhi on Friday distributed appointment letters to 376 new joinees in various departments and advised them to work with professionalism and a service-oriented mindset.
Majhi urged them not to view govt jobs merely as a means of income but to remain committed to their duties and avoid corruption. The recruits comprise 85 homeopathic doctors and 239 radiographers in the health department, and 52 lecturers in the higher education department.
Majhi, attending the Nijukti Mela, said Odisha has not yet achieved the expected transparency in the health and education sectors. According to a recent health ranking by NITI Aayog, he said Odisha ranks third from bottom among 28 states, scoring only 40.19 out of 100.
“Despite previous extensive promotion of world-class health services, the current situation needs improvement. Odisha should aim for at least 60 points in health ranking and strive to be among the top 10 states in service delivery,” he said.
The CM further highlighted the need for a solid foundation and trained human resources for excellent health services. “State govt is working systematically to address these issues as a part of its vision. We have seen a 32% increase in the health budget compared to the previous year,” Majhi said.
He also said that over the next five years, medical colleges and hospitals will be established in all districts. “The Ayushman Bharat scheme, along with the state’s Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana, will play a crucial role in providing quality healthcare to the people,” he said.
Majhi also announced that in the health sector, alongside the recruitment of homeopathic doctors and radiographers, the govt will soon appoint pharmacy officers in govt-run hospitals.
He also announced the upgrade of 422 homeopathic and ayurvedic hospitals in Odisha as ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandirs’ under the National Ayush Mission. Three integrated Ayush hospitals with 50 beds each will also be established in Dhenkanal, Berhampur and Balasore, the CM said.
Advising the newly appointed lecturers, the CM said they are young and should guide students to become responsible. “State govt is preparing a vision document for Odisha, keeping 2036 and 2047 in mind. Your role is important in it,” he said.
