CM draws cultural parallels between TN & Odisha | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday highlighted the deep-rooted cultural similarities between Odisha and Tamil Nadu while speaking at the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 3.0 at NAMO ghat in Varanasi.
Drawing parallels between the two states’ rich cultural heritage, Majhi compared the iconic Rath Yatra of Puri’s Jagannath Temple to the grand temple processions of Tamil Nadu. He also emphasized how both states’ classical dance forms – Odissi and Bharatanatyam – serve as mediums of devotional expression and storytelling that transcend regional and linguistic boundaries.
“While our languages, customs, and practices may differ, our core values of love, respect, and spirituality remain the same. This cultural integration is what makes India a truly unique and vibrant nation,” said Majhi, addressing the gathering that included Union minister of state Sukanta Majumdar and UP minister Anil Rajbhar.
The CM praised the Sangamam as a bridge between North and South India, describing it as a celebration of shared traditions and cultural harmony. The Kashi Tamil Sangamam 3.0 features performances of Carnatic music, recitations of Tamil poetry, and vedic chants, showcasing the cultural integration that defines India’s diverse heritage.
