Bhubaneswar: Odisha chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi along with students from govt schools across the state, attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Pariksha Pe Charcha on Monday. The interactive session aimed to boost students’ confidence ahead of the board exams, offering guidance on handling pressure, time management, and other academic concerns. Odia student Priti Biswal was among those who had the opportunity to interact with the Prime Minister.
Attending as chief guest in the Pariksha Pe Charcha-2025 programme held at Unit-I Government High School, Majhi asked students to focus on preparation rather than stressing about results. He also interacted with students and said exams should not be a source of fear but an opportunity to showcase one’s hard work. He advised students to listen to their teachers, maintain self-confidence, and prepare with dedication, stating that success is assured for those who persevere.
“A little stress before exams is natural and even beneficial, but excessive pressure can be harmful. Instead of worrying about results, focus on preparation. Taking short breaks between study sessions can help maintain concentration,” he said, asking students to follow a structured study plan, revise consistently, and avoid distractions like mobile phones during preparation.
Stressing digital discipline, Majhi, who was a teacher before joining politics, suggested students minimise the use of digital devices during study time and recommended early morning study sessions, as the mind is most receptive at that time.
As part of the event, 168 students appearing for the matriculation exam were present. Students, including Lija Nayak, Shubham Patra, J. Meenakshi, Sasmita Sahu, and Sanjeev Digal, asked questions about exam preparation, which Majhi answered with practical advice. He also distributed exam preparation kits to students.
The event was attended by minister of school and mass education Nityananda Gond, additional secretary to the chief minister Anupam Saha, state project director of Odisha School Education Programme Authority Ananya Das, and teachers and students of the school.
