CM announces investment plan of Rs 10,000 crore for industrial devpt in Mayurbhanj | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhion Tuesday announced an investment plan of Rs 10,000 crore for industrial development in Mayurbhanj district. “This industrial establishment will double the district’s development and create substantial employment opportunities for locals,” Majhi said while addressing a gathering in Bishnoi where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 420 crore across various blocks in the district.The development package includes 133 completed projects worth Rs 328 crore and foundation stones for 52 new projects valued at Rs 91 crore.These projects span across rural drinking water systems, mega pipe water supply schemes, school infrastructure, healthcare facilities, road construction and tribal cultural buildings.On April 16, Majhi had announced 10 industrial projects across steel, green hydrogen and automobile parts, envisaging an investment of Rs 7,000 crore for Mayurbhanj, which would employ more than 5,125 people directly.”The success ofUtkarsh Odisha(investors meet) has opened new opportunities. This industrialisation will accelerate the district’s development and create substantial employment opportunities,” he said.The CM also announced the establishment of a new Plus II college at Bishoi block headquarters. In a tribute to local heritage, the mini stadium in Bishoi will be named after tribal icon Dharanidhar Nayak, with his statue to be installed at the venue.“Our govt’s ‘36 for 36′ programme aims to transform Odisha by 2036 through 36 specific initiatives focusing on education, health, industry and infrastructure development,” Majhi said.At the event, financial assistance was distributed to local beneficiaries, including ex gratia to deceased’s kin, marriage incentives for labourers’ daughters and financial aid up to Rs 10 lakh for women’s self-help groups.”Our administration has successfully fulfilled people’s aspirations through swift decision-making and implementation of welfare schemes. Earlier, people’s grievances and complaints were not heard by the previous govt and public representatives, but my govt has brought changes in the system. Now elected public representatives are directly listening to people’s grievances and arranging for solutions. Women, especially in rural Odisha, have become economically empowered and self-reliant today. A good time has certainly come for the economic development of rural residents in Odisha,” he added.The programme was attended by several dignitaries, including housing and urban development minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, forest minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia and local MPs and MLAs.
