Gaya: An amendment to classification of roads was approved at a meeting of the Gaya Municipal Corporation (GMC) board organised here on Thursday. The board has decided to send a proposal regarding this to the state urban development department for its approval, to conduct fresh classification of the city roads.
Earlier, the classification of roads, which led to increase in holding tax, had invited protests from residents and several political parties.In view of the protests, the Gaya Municipal Corporation administration invited objections from the people by organising camps at its office on June 27, 28, 29 and 30, where about 204 objections were submitted. The municipal administration reviewed the objections and presented them before the board on Thursday.
