Berhampur: Tension gripped Haladiapadar, on the outskirts of Berhampur under Golanthara police limits, following a clash between two groups Friday night. At least four people were injured when the rival group allegedly attacked them with sharp weapons, police said.
The injured persons are undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, and their condition is stated to be stable and out of danger, said police.

Though exact cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained, a preliminary inquiry has revealed that the incident might be due to previous enmity. Some people, who were released from jail on bail recently, are suspected to be involved in the incident, police said.
“Police forces rushed to the spot immediately and brought the situation under control,” said SP (Berhampur) Saravana Vivek M. He said two platoons of forces were deployed in the village. Patrolling was also intensified to nab the accused, said the SP, while ruling out any political motive was responsible for the incident. Police said they have detained some persons, including those released from jail on bail, for questioning.
