Bhubaneswar: Hostility between two villagers turned tragic, with one killing the other in Parjang area in Dhenkanal district on Wednesday. Police identified the deceased as Rakesh Sethi (28), a resident of Basoi village under Parjang police station limits.
The accused, Saroj Biswal (35), is on the run. Police sources said the incident occurred around 2 pm when Sethi was walking back to his home after visiting the local market. According to eyewitnesses, Biswal had been waiting near a secluded spot along the village path. When the two met, a heated argument broke out, leading the accused to attack the victim with a sharp weapon.
Sethi was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
“We expect to arrest the accused soon,” said sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Gyana Ranjan Mishra.
