Navi Mumbai: Koparkhairane police on Friday arrested a 25-year-old contract teacher at a Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation school for allegedly sexually assaulting a 20-year-old college student who was taking internship training in psychology from him.
The incident took place on March 7, when Saurabh Khedkar visited her residence as her parents were out of town. Her 11-year-old brother, who was at home, is a witness. His statement will be recorded, said senior inspector Audumbar Patil, adding: “We will file a chargesheet in court within a week for a speedy trial and conviction.” — George Mendonca
