Choubey’s remark on CM face puts BJP in dilemma | Patna News – Times of India

Patna: The Bihar BJP currently finds itself in a challenging situation, grappling with two conflicting aspirations. On one hand, the party yearns for a dominant role within the NDA alliance, with the goal of having its own CM in the state. Simultaneously, the BJP remains steadfast in maintaining the ideological integrity of the organization.
This commitment to ideological purity is reflected in the party’s insistence on granting leadership positions only to those individuals who have “mool” (roots) within the party and have risen through its ranks. The twin aspects came to the fore on Thursday.
This comes amid Prime Minister Narendra Modi clearing the stand of the BJP’s top brass on Thursday through his posting on social media after his routine meeting with the MPs from the NDA ally JD(U) in Delhi. He also explained as to who would lead the Bihar NDA in the 2025 assembly elections, and said it would be CM Nitish Kumar, once again.
Former Union minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey, who also has roots in the RSS and was denied ticket to contest from the Buxar Lok Sabha seat this time even if he was sitting MP, presented the alternative position while talking to mediapersons the same day in Bhagalpur.
PM Modi posted on social media that BJP and JD (U) have a long history of working together and fighting poor governance, corruption and criminalisation in Bihar.
