Chirag Paswan Declares RLJP Never Part of NDA Despite Party Threats | Patna News – Times of India
Patna: A day after the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) leadership threatened to exit the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), LJP (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan dismissed the claims, saying that RLJP was never a part of the alliance.
Speaking to reporters in here, Chirag said, “A person can threaten to walk out only when s/he is part of the group. NDA me wo the kab? Alag to wo hota hai jo saath me ho (When were they in the NDA? Separation is only possible if they were part of it).” He said RLJP was not associated with the NDA during the Lok Sabha elections and remains irrelevant as the assembly elections draw near. Chirag also dared his uncle, RLJP chief and former Union minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, to take whatever steps he deemed fit.
Chirag’s remarks came in response to RLJP chief Paras, who, after a two-day meeting of party netas, expressed anger over alleged injustices by the BJP. Paras alleged, “The BJP people did gross injustice to us. So much so that the entire party workers are in a revolting mood.” He added, “Our party workers have asked us to start poll preparations for all 243 assembly seats in the state.”
Paras revealed plans to strengthen the RLJP, announcing a target of recruiting 20 lakh members in the next four months. “Our workers are gripped by strong anger over the way the NDA dealt with us and did injustice to us,” he added.
