Children give wings to artistic skills at contest | Bhubaneswar News
Bhubaneswar: More than 25 children showcased their creativity at a ‘sit and draw’ competition themed around Christmas, organised by TOI at Gatikrushna Green Villa in Rangabazar here on Sunday.
The students, segregated into two groups — classes I to IV and classes V to VIII — demonstrated their artistic prowess by paintin Christmas trees, Santa Claus, snowman and various festive elements. A panel of judges selected three winners in each category, presenting them with trophies and certificates at the conclusion of the competition.
In Group A, Samarth Mohanty secured the first prize, while Vedansh Sahu claimed the second position and Saanvi Shree was third. In Group B, Manashwi Rana was first, while Ahaan Roshan secured the second prize and Ashmit Mishra was third.
Arun Kumar Nayak, vice-president of the resident welfare association, said the initiative provided students an opportunity to showcase their artistic abilities. “Such events should be organised at frequent intervals,” he opined.
Kumar Abhishek, secretary of the association, said the theme was appropriately chosen. “It was a very engaging and educative event,” he said.
Ajaya Kumar Panigrahi, a member of the association, observed there was remarkable enthusiasm among the children.
