Child Welfare Panel Takes Action Against ‘Kalki’ Avatar Claims |
Bhubaneswar: The child welfare committee on Sunday filed a suo moto case against Kashinath Mishra, who allegedly claimed his son to be ‘Kalki’ avatar.
On Saturday, a voluntary organisation had lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that the religious sentiments of people have been hurt following such claims. On Sunday, people gathered outside a mutt in Bharatpur area to protest against Kashinath, who was absent. In a video message, Kashinath had however denied the allegation that he had tried to project his son as an incarnation of Lord Bishnu.
As tension escalated, police reached the spot to defuse the crisis. “I have spoken to the Khurda collector to help us verify whether the ashram, where the controversy has erupted, is located in an authorised place or not. Regarding other allegations, we are looking into them,” DCP Pinak Mishra said.
