Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar will lay the foundation stone for ‘Mahavir Bal Cancer Hospital,’
dedicated to the treatment of children, on Thursday.
The hospital, on the way to AIIMS Patna from Mahavir Cancer Institute in Phulwarisharif, is being set up by the Mahavir Mandir Trust. According to the press release issued by the trust, the hospital will be first of its kind in the country, exclusively meant for treating ailing children.
Secretary, Mahavir Mandir Trust, Acharya Kunal Kishore, in a statement to the media, said the hospital will have 100-bed and free treatment would be provided to the children up to 18 years. As of now, children are being treated in Mahavir Cancer Sansthan in a separate ward, which was inaugurated by the then President APJ Abdul Kalam.
Kunal said Thursday is the 26th anniversary of Mahavir Cancer Sansthan, and on this auspicious occasion, the foundation stone of Mahavir Bal Cancer Hospital will be laid.
