Chennai Airport Arrests Fugitive Linked to Minor Sexual Assault Case | Chennai News – The Times of India

CHENNAI: A 31-year-old man wanted in the case of sexual assault on a minor was nabbed at Chennai airport when he flew down from Oman. The accused, Roshith Rajeevan, was booked by Kozhikode rural police on charges of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a minor in 2023.
However, he remained at large, and based on information that he could have escaped abroad, Kozhikode police issued a lookout notice to all airports across the country.
On Wednesday, when the immigration officials at the Chennai airport were verifying the documents of passengers who arrived on an Oman Airways flight, they noticed that Roshith’s passport was flagged by the authorities.
Upon scrutiny, they found out that Kozhikode police were looking for him. He was immediately detained and handed over to the city police at the Chennai airport.
Kozhikode police were alerted, and a team reached Chennai on Thursday. They took custody of the accused and initiated the process to take him to Kerala.
