HYDERABAD: A youth was hacked to death by his girlfriend’s father over a love affair in Peddapalli district.
The victim, identified as 20-year-old Sai Kumar, was celebrating his birthday near a local temple on Thursday night when he came across the accused, Muthyam Saddaiah.
Muthyam allegedly confronted Sai Kumar about his close relationship with his daughter, leading to a heated argument between the two.
In a fit of rage, Muthyam, who was returning from his farm and was in possession of an axe, attacked Sai Kumar. “When Muthyam met Sai Kumar, the former was returning from his farm field and was in possession of an axe. Following an argument between, Muthyam attacked Sai and killed him,” Sulthanabad police told TOI.
The brutal attack left Sai Kumar dead on the spot.
The accused later surrendered before the police.
The incident has shocked the local community, highlighting the tragic consequences of conflicts arising from personal relationships.
Police are now investigating the case further, while Sai Kumar’s friends and family are in deep mourning over the loss.
