CBI arrests 2 Pondy engrs in bribe case | Chennai News – The Times of India

Chennai: Puducherry’s public works department chief engineer and executive engineer were caught red-handed by the CBI while accepting a bribe of 2 lakh as part of an illicit transaction. During subsequent searches, the agency recovered 73 lakh in cash.
According to the CBI, the case was registered on Saturday based on allegations that executive engineer R Chidambaranathan had demanded a 6 lakh bribe. The bribe was allegedly intended for chief engineer M Dhinadhayalan in exchange for facilitating site clearance. They were remanded in judicial custody.
