Bhubaneswar: The capital city is gearing up to host the first-ever Subhadra Shakti Mela, a fair celebrating the achievements of women entrepreneurs across the state. The nine-day event will be held at Janata Maidan from Feb 22 to March 2.
Deputy chief minister Pravati Parida announced the event during a press conference on Friday, revealing that over 300 stalls operated by self-help groups and producer groups will participate in the exhibition.
The fair will showcase an extensive range of products, including handicrafts, terracotta, bamboo crafts, handloom textiles, home essentials, health and wellness products, organic food items, spices and millet-based delicacies. All products will be directly sourced from women entrepreneurs.
Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to inaugurate the event, while dignitaries like deputy chief minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and senior officials from the state govt will grace the event.
