Bhubaneswar: The ‘Save Sainik School Campaign‘, a group of civil society members, submitted a memorandum on Thursday addressed to the president and prime minister demanding immediate removal of the temporary dumping yard on the Sainik School premises in Bhubaneswar.
“Instead of relocating the dumping site, authorities have proposed shifting the Sainik School to facilitate road expansion,” said Ashok Paikray, secretary of the campaign.
During their meeting with governor Hari Babu Kumbhampati, they emphasised that relocating an institution like Sainik School is unacceptable. “The governor assured us that he would discuss the issue with the defence ministry,” said Prassanna Bisoyi, working president of the campaign. TNN
