Mumbai: The state cabinet on Tuesday allocated Rs 142 crore to build a memorial for women’s education pioneer Savitribai Phule at her birthplace in Satara’s Naigaum.
The cabinet also cleared a women’s training centre for Rs 67 lakh. A high-level committee, led by Satara district collector, will impleme-nt and manage training programmes at the centre. tnn
