Cabinet approves Rs 27,019cr for integrated health scheme | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: State cabinet has approved an expenditure of Rs 27,019.25 crore to implement the integrated health assurance programme combining the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and the state’s Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (G-JAY) over five years, starting 2025-26.
CM Mohan Charan Majhi informed the assembly on Friday that under the integrated scheme, approximately 1.03 crore families (3.46 crore beneficiaries) will receive annual cashless treatment benefits of up to Rs 5 lakh per family, with an additional Rs 5 lakh for female members. The programme also includes the ‘Ayushman Bayo-Bandana Yojana’ for senior citizens aged 70 and above, offering Rs 5 lakh cashless treatment regardless of their economic status.
The govt earlier announced the implementation of the integrated scheme from April 1. Beneficiaries will have access to 29,000 empanelled private and government hospitals nationwide.
The state govt signed an MoU with the National Health Authority to execute the comprehensive healthcare initiative. The CM earlier allocated Rs 4,479 crore for G-JAY in the 2025-26 state budget.
