Rachakonda police arrested a car driver from Meerpet for allegedly raping a German woman at Pahadishareef

HYDERABAD: Rachakonda police arrested a car driver in his mid-20s from Meerpet on Monday night for allegedly raping a German national at Pahadishareef.
In a quick response, the suspect was identified and arrested based on the woman’s account and other information. He will be brought before the court for further legal action, a Rachakonda police official told TOI.
According to police, the woman who was visiting Hyderabad with her friends, was on her way to the airport when the driver offered to show them around the city.
After dropping his friends off, he continued the journey with the woman. At Mamidipally, the driver asked the others to get out, saying he would take the woman further to take some photos.
After a short stop, the woman took pictures, but once back in the car, he allegedly raped her and threatened her before fleeing.
The woman later reported the incident to the police, leading to the driver’s arrest.
