Bengaluru: BWSSB lodged a complaint against Bescom officials and their contractor for causing damage to a pipeline in Basavanagudi while the power utility was installing an underground cable.
The incident led to disruption in water supply and caused a loss of Rs 5 lakh.
According to the complaint filed by Sachin Patil, assistant executive engineer, BWSSB, southwest 1, with Basavanagudi police on Feb 10, Bescom, during installation of an underground cable wire on Kanakapura Road, South End Road junction, damaged the pipeline on Feb 7 night, resulting in considerable water wastage and disruption in supply to the area.
BWSSB officials said they got to know about the damage Monday and fixed it by Tuesday evening. Water supply will resume only Thursday, they said.
A case has been registered under BNS Section 326 (mischief) and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. “We will issue notices to the accused and take action,” a senior officer said.
